Happy Spring! I kicked off the month sitting by the pool in Florida, so that’s a win. Here’s what I’m into this month.
LISTENING TO
I started a new running podcast called Ali on the Run. She talks to everyday runners, professional athletes, entrepreneurs, and industry leaders she finds interesting and inspiring, hearing about their decisions, successes, failures, and missteps. I just listened to Yosef Herzog from the Today Show and can’t wait to hear from other runners who are also professionals, to see how they balance it all. I always get more inspiration from everyday runners, rather than elite runners. My next episode of hers I plan to listen to is Meaghan Murphy from Good Housekeeping.
READING
Speaking of Meaghan, I just read about her nightly routine on The Newsette. I was served an ad for this newsletter in my Facebook feed the other week and am liking it! Particularly reading about other women’s routines and the “What She Does” series.
Shameless plug! I also contributed to two blogs last week. First, I shared the women inspiring me right now on behalf of Women’s History Month over on my company’s blog. Then, I shared my top learnings from the Ragan Disney social media conference on PRSA Pittsburgh. And in case you missed it, I also shared more in-depth about my favorite session from the conference, Wendy’s.
WATCHING
Speaking of inspirational women…Ellevate Pittsburgh held a screening of the Ruth Bader Ginsburg documentary last week, in partnership with BNY Mellon. Truthfully, I’ve never known much about RBG and didn’t understand people being so obsessed with her, but after watching the documentary, I GET IT! RBG is a force. No matter which political side you’re on, you have to appreciate her approach to how she’s gone through life and some very tough legal cases, always fighting for women’s rights. And the love she and her husband shared was just too sweet.
EATING
DeLallo Foods is one of my favorite Instagram accounts (and a Pittsburgh brand), and last week I tried their Salmon Tuscano with Herbed Whole-Wheat Orzo recipe. Delicious!
LEARNING
My colleague just attended Social Media Marketing World and I can’t wait to hear more. She sent me some updates, which included keynote speaker Mari Smith. From what I’ve seen, this woman KNOWS social media. She was sharing some key takeaways from her keynote on Friday, including:
Your goal with Facebook is to create highly SHAREABLE content. Each post needs to be βthumb-stopping.β πππ
My Facebook Content Marketing Recommendation:

π 10% Links/Status Updates
You can see more from Mari’s session (and all her knowledge) on her Twitter. And follow along from the #SMMW19 hashtag from the conference.
