15 weeks.
307 miles.
55 hours, 3 minutes, and 20 seconds of running.
1 reoccurring case of shin splints.
Endless hours of “Songs to run to.”
Daily aches and pains.
1 sore hip.
16 sacrificed weekends.
1 ginormous blood blister.
Too much money spent on running gear, race entry fees, and fuel.
IT’S TIME TO RUN A MARATHON, BABY!
How I’m preparing:
Putting in the final miles (3 & 5 this past Saturday and Sunday; 3 this Tuesday, 3 Thursday, 2 Saturday).
Broke in my new marathon outfit this past weekend with a test run.
Gave myself a bright pink mani to have something pretty to look at.
Drinking lots and lots and lots of water and Nuun (no pop or alcohol this week).
Daily RICE-ing.
Getting lots of sleep.
Visualizing a great race.
Going to the marathon expo Friday night, getting everything laid out Saturday.
Carbo-loading, but not over-loading (including my mom’s pasta Saturday night).
Creating the most important playlist ever.
Tweeting motivational songs all week.
See you at the start line on Sunday!!! Last words? I am going to make this marathon my bitch!

You look like a giant! Ha!
How do you like Nuun. I tried it once, and the aftertaste has kept me away. I think I’m too used to Gatorade.
Oh, and yes – the marathon will be your bitch in a matter of days….
A giant?? SUCCESS! Haha. I love Nuun. I discovered it at Elite last year and I really like how it’s kind of fizzy.
