I’m just going to make this week’s post short and sweet since I am VERY late with this recap! But week 12, as miserable as it was, is officially in the books.
How I’m feeling this week:
Pretty bad. I am incredibly sore and tired. Running is starting to become a chore rather than something I enjoy. At least for this week anyway.
What I ran this week:
- Tuesday, 4/3: 5.00 miles, 1:01:55 (12:18 average pace), road (including 1 mile walking)
- Saturday, 4/7: 15.33 miles, 2:40:28 (10:25 average pace), road (marathon course)
TOTAL: 20.34 miles, 3:42:22 (slightly behind my training schedule but still on track)
How I cross-trained this week: None
What I ate this week: Same routine, but definitely not enough hydration.
Roadblocks this week:
The mental is far outweighing the physical at this point in training. I’ve been devoting my life to running for 12 weeks, so it’s hard to stay focused. The pain is also tough to run through, too. But, week 13 (my current week), is all about the positive thinking and motivation to get through my 20-miler this Sunday.
Goals for the week ahead:
Of course, cross train. This is a weekly battle. But more importantly, take better care of myself, and get my mind in the game.

[…] upon my (almost non-existent) marathon training recaps from the past couple weeks, especially my last recap, it appears as if I’ve fallen off the training wagon. Well, I have. Sort of. The blog post […]
