A couple days ago, it was about 15 degrees and my boyfriend Dave and I decided to embark on an adventure: The Pittsburgh Zoo. The zoo in the winter isn’t something I’d normally think to do, let alone the zoo when it’s snowing and FREEZING. But I’d been bugging him to take me there for months and this was finally my chance. And to our pleasant surprise, it was a great time! Granted, I couldn’t feel my hands by the time we were ready to leave, but that’s what heat is for.
Looking for the giraffes…I couldn’t find them.
Random peacock
PPG Aquarium was all indoors and awesome! So was the place where all the apes were so we were able to watch them in the warmth.
Loved the polar bears and their winter friends the sea otters and sea lions
Even though we didn’t see everything we could have seen in the warmer months, the backdrop with the snow was really pretty and we got to see the animals better since there weren’t a lot of people. I really recommend checking out your zoo in the winter.
And finally, I couldn’t blog about the zoo without this accompanying photo:
